“Amy’s Wish”, a screen adaptation of James Caputo’s award-winning short play, has officially been selected to screen in the 2012 Midwest Christian-Inspirational Indie Film Festival taking place September 28-30, 2012. The Festival location is the Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State Street in Chicago, Illinois.
Directed for the screen by Bates College Professor Paul Kuritz, “Amy’s Wish” recounts the story of Amy, an attractive young girl facing her father’s terminal illness and her encounter with a professional mourner at a local funeral parlor.
The talents of actress Britt Davis of Chicago, Illinois meet those of Cheryl Reynolds of Portland, Maine. Robert Little of Auburn, Maine serves as cinematographer while Cherelle Conner of Miami, Florida edits the film. The historic Albert and Burpee Funeral Home provides the backdrop for Mr. Caputo’s poignant story.
“Amy’s Wish” has also been selected to appear at Atlanta Georgia’s Kingdomwood Film Festival in October and Manila’s Gideon’s Fire Film Festival.
The short film will premiere on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 4:00 pm in Room 104 of the Olin Arts Building on the Bates College campus.
